New Battleground Contest
A new contest at Battleground Bmx.

Welcome to our first "Last Man Standing Tournament." Here is how this is going to work. We're going to give everyone a chance to enter this contest. You will have from October 21, 2011 until October 28, 2011 to enter this contest. We're taking the first 50 riders who email us with a letter of intent. All you have to do is email us at info@battlegroundbmx.com and give us your name, and a very short bio about yourself and say that you want to be in the "Last Man Standing Tournament." This is first come, first served and there are only 50 spots. After Friday Oct. 28 this contest will be closed to new entries and the first round will begin. The first round will run from October 31, to November 14. There will be three rounds; each round will run for two weeks, and riders will be eliminated each week until we only have 5 riders left. Riders must submit a new video entry during each round or they will be automatically eliminated. At the conclusion of the last round the users of the site will vote on the final winner. The main idea of this contest is to film the "best line." You must have 1 minute or less of raw, unedited footage with as many tricks as you want. You can do anything before or after that raw footage but for your "line" we will not allow any editing of any kind. The prize package that will go to one final winner includes the following items:
1. Odyssey Director Fork
2. Animal Kotulak Multi Tool
3. A set of Stolen Thermalite pedals
4. A pair of Stolen Vortex Barends
5. A pair of Fly Bikes' new Cobra Tubes
6. A pair of ODI Longneck Grips
7. A BattleGround BMX T-shirt
The estimated value of this package is about $270.00. If you think you have what it takes to win this tournament then email us today at info@battlegroundbmx.com

Jordan Hughson Trails Edit
Jordan Hughson, what can I say about this kid? His style is supreme and unrivaled, and at 18 years old, he is already a local legend. I'm proud to have become friends with him and hopefully it lasts a long time. Check out the video below that I filmed and edited for him.
Scoop Dunk Hood Sesh'n Recap
A bunch of friends, ambition, and an idea; these are all I needed to create the jams, meet ups, sessions, or whatever you want to call them. Though I may seem annoying at times, being the self promoting whore that I am. My intention is to formulate something we can all remember. Through my decade plus of riding bmx, through all of my ups and downs, injuries, skill levels, etc; the only thing that I have taken from this hobby are the friendships and the amazing experiences turned memories, a majority of which I have created.
On October 22nd, I held the third Scoop Dunk jam, this time properly naming it "Hood Sesh'n" due to the surroundings. Because to the "fun" we had the night before (this included the devil in a can, four loko), the day was off to a slow start. But we dusted off the cob webs and got on our way. After packing up the ramps, which by the way, were generously built by John Held, we headed to an abandoned school in Portsmouth, VA. Many people asked me, "why would you have a jam here?", and though I really don't have an answer, I suppose I just enjoyed the environment there.
The overall feel to the day was mellow, but steady. This was not a competition by any means, rather, a group of friends getting together to ride, which was my complete expectation. The session shifted from obstacle to obstacle, including a makeshift box jump, a flat rail, and a bank to sub. Justin Waddell was the emcee without a mic; cheering on everyone that touched the ramp, and graciously throwing out product to the people that threw down.
The jam lasted about five solid hours, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. I have plans for a big spring jam, so be on the lookout for information regarding that. Thank you everyone who made it happen, and thank you to the sponsors, The Level Below, The Gully Factory, Battleground Bmx, and John and Justin.

Brad / B Rad visit
My good friends Brad Larsen and Brad Bunzel from the Chicago area successfully made the treacherous 18 hour drive through the shady, creepy family ridden Appalachian mountains to Norfolk, VA to visit me for the weekend. It was so great riding with some old friends, it's my favorite thing to do. We shared some great times, good laughs, and hazy drunkenness. Thank you so much to the Brads, hope to see you guys again soon! Here are some highlights from the weekend:
-Brad L. attempting a gnarly gap at Northside within the first half hour or so of riding the place (it didn't come out pretty).
-Introducing Brad B. to Four Loko (it didn't come out pretty either).
-Both Brads shredding the hell out of the Scoop Dunk jam (unforgettable).
-Last but not least, Brad B. testing the density of the concrete at Northside, watch the video below.
